The Abduction

We've all seen slot canyon images before and the light beams and all that mumbo jumbo, but I finally had a chance to capture some myself last week while wandering through lower antelope canyon. It's safe to say I have enough images from there that I have no desire to return, and hope to visit some of the other lesser known canyons up there at some point. One of the guides who was with his group decided to throw some sand into the air so the light beam would be more apparent. I situated myself behind a rather large rock structure only to get a partial beam to cut through both walls. I wanted to avoid getting the cliche shot of the entire beam, and I felt this composition enhanced the mystery and mood. Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Very nice work, Peter. The lines and color are nice and great thinking to catch something a little different.

A lot of photo's from this locale, but you did something a bit different to separate it from others. Nice work.

Looks like the transporter from Star Trek. Great to see something a little different from this iconic location. Well done!

Peter, I like the composition and processing with the framed light beam. To me, this seem a little heavy on the lower left and would be inclined to crop off 1/2" to lessen the impact of the darker LLC.

Peter, wonderful ghostly light!
I'd add more tone to the extreme highlights an let 'er buck.

Thanks everyone! Glad I was able to come back with some unique stuff from here.

Doug, I see what you mean about the left side. I was hesitant on including so much, but it would be off balance of it was cropped from the left as I wanted the beam to be center.
