Fall Intimate-scape, repost

It's not always about the grand landscape when it comes to fall foliage. Intimate-scapes are just as fun to shoot!

Nikon D90, 70-200mm, polarizer, handheld, looking down an embankment with the water as the background. Some cropping done also.

Love the combination of colours, Christine, and your choice of dof. Very nicely composed overall, though I might just remove the bit of leaf along the upper R border. Not sure about the unconventional positioning of the copyright text - intriguing though !!!

Nice job of seeing and composing this, Christine. I like the main large red leaf as the focal point, and the way the leaves all flow diagonally downward. The soft bluish water makes a nice bg. I agree with Ian about the bit of leaf in the URC - a very easy fix, of course. My only other reservation is the oof leaf in the llc, but this is pretty minor, and not much you could do about it I suspect. Overall, an excellent intimate study of fall colors. :toast:

Thanks for the comments!! @ Ian, I also post on FB and therefore, like to keep my copyright close to the subject without being too obtrusive. Sorry about that.

Here is the suggested cropping. It cleans it up better but I think it further shows the llc oof leaves. Thanks for your input.

I am curious, Christine, about why you cropped from the top to remove the leaf in the URC rather than just clone it out?

Oh! Duh me! I thought that's what you meant. But still, I haven't done much cloning and didn't even think of it. I'm glad because I prefer the original so tomorrow, I'll try it. Going cross-eyed now. Thanks, Scott!

The colors here are lovely. I like your nice tight view of these colorful leaves. Yes, the intruder in the upper right is easily fixed.
