Common Texas Mantis and Green Lynx Spider in a momentary confrontation, cosmos flower. Not particularly happy with the flashed look, but the light was poor. 1D M3, Sigma 150mm. No other data available.

Was this a case of mutually assured destruction or detente? Interesting subject, and the light doesn't bother me.

Excellent eye level comp to show the stand off, Howard. I like the way you got both insects in focus against the neutral but colorful bg. The detail in the spider is particularly good, and the lighting looks good to me as well.

Superb, Howard. species interaction shots are among my favorites - by their nature they tell a story. Great color & detail.. The flash is a tiny bit garish on the spider, but is more than compensated for by the story.

Hey Howard,
Outstanding find with these two sharing the spotlight together.
Nicely captured as always, great colors, detail and BG. I like the flash lighting, it gives the flower a 'Hot' look just like the confrontation to come between these two Warriors.
Congratulations on the WP . . . :toast:
