Black-crowned Night-Heron, Nycticorax nycticorax

I was leaving the place I was photographing since the early morning, when this Black-crowned Night-Heron landed on a perch right in front where I was.

Very nice Jefferson, nice detail and setting. I don't know if you would have missed the shot if you had rotated to vertical but I think that would have worked well here if you had time after you took the first couple of shots.

Thanks, Nate.
I think I have room to create a vertical crop of the image. I'll try it and post it here!

Love that bright red eye. Sweet light and background, excellent details too. Nice exposure work Jefferson.
