I am sorry I have not commented or posted in awhile. I started a new job, and other things have gotten in the way. All of you continue to post the most extraordinary work here!

I shot this about a month ago now at my favorite wild sunflower field close to my home. It was a stormy late evening, and the camera's AWB chose this cool balance. I liked the result so left it for it's effect.

Please view the large version.

5D, 100-300mm @220mm, 1/160 sec., f/5.6, iso800, tripod,

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I like the evocative mood created by the subdued and cool tone, Morris. The shallow dof is very effective and works well for the subject.

Morris - Very moody and different !!. The blue tone complements the yellows from the flowers so nicely.

A nice low key take on sunflowers.

The somber mood is most unusual. (sunflowers are usually so cheerful) I like the complimentary colors and cool blues. I think the shallow dof works here but my personal preference would be to have the fg in focus rather than the mid ground. I kinda stumble over the oof blooms on my way to the good stuff.

Amazing how well the flowers stand out in the gloom here, Morris. Love the tonality - a very creative image, working with the dull light.

Very different and 'out-of-the-box' Morris! A very cool photo! (Pun not originally intended) Thank you for the many comments on my photos.
