Dall Ram Portrait

Just a simple portrait of a decent Alaska ram. Did my best to keep from blowing the whites, thoughts? As always, comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

I think the exposure looks spot on, so I don't think you blew the whites (at least it looks like that my on my iPad). Looks like you have awesome detail, but I'd love to see a larger version anyway. Great image!

Whites look very good to me Guy. There is a hint of warmth in the light in spite of the rather strong and direct frontal lighting, that I like a lot. Nice control of the dof, sharp where it matters - the face and horns, while the background is soft and a complementary color. Pleasing portrait. :toast:

Thanks for the comments everyone - sorry about the lack of a larger version, but I'm just not comfortable posting a printable size image on the internet.

Guy, I LOVE this portrait. Wonderful light, texture and colours, and perfect sharpness and detail. Jenaya and were sure hoping for a chance to photograph these guys when we visited the Kluane area in the Yukon last fall, but they were WAY out of our reach with the time we had left in the day when we did find them. This picture makes me want to go back and try again.
