Rock Snake

Snake in the Rock at Ocean Point, Boothbay, Maine
The patterns and colors of the rocks at Ocean Point scream out abstract to me especially on this day which was overcast and raining on and off. The rain and overcast sky enhanced the rich colors of these rocks.
As always, thanks for having a look.

12 commentsdo you have a bit more canvas on the left side? I like the red v-shaped form at the top left. It would be nice to see the point of the v. I might even make this more of a vertical by cropping all of the open crack and ledge. The stripes and bends of color interest me more than the pretty red, but non-striated rock on the right.
I like the wet look of this, also.

I like this a lot! Great color and textures. Like Lucy, I can see different crops with which to experiment, but this works for me as is.

I have other images from this spot I'll take a look at them as well as alternate crops. Thanks for that input Lucy and Preston.
Harry, It sure looks like quartz. This particular area is not far from where you took your images of Ram Island Light a while ago. I spend a lot of time on these rocks.
