Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 400, 1/10 @ f22
In October of 2012 my faithful and longtime stalwart A700 suffered a serious camera error/shutter mechanism failure. I went on to buy an A77 to replace it which has been a joy to use. However, faced with a major trip to Northwest Washington next month and having no backup body other than my old Minolta M7 film camera, I decided to send the A700 back to Sony to see if it could be repaired. After a thoroughly satisfactory service experience from Sony my old buddy returned to its rightful place in the camera bag. This is from my first shoot today of one of our hibiscus flowers after a short rain. I can see the difference between the 12mp sensor of the A700 and the 24mp sensor on the A77 but it feels pretty good to know I've got a competent fall back if anything should happen to the A77.
