"Sandwiched" Island

This island, Niihau, just off the south west coast of Kauai which is part of the Sandwich Island Chain is known as the "Forbidden Isle" due to the fact that only Hawaiians are allowed to live there. For more history go to: http://www.niihauheritage.org/niihau_history.htm
Again, I captured this picture right off the rear balcony of the radar tower where I work up in Kokee. Sun had set about 10 minutes earlier. Tried to bring out more shadow detail in the trees, but it was quite dark already.

What a wonderful sandwich! One really has to view it larger. As there's still some green shades left in the trees, I don't mind it being dark.

The larger version has much better detail Daniel and I like the pano format and the dark colors. Well done.
