Ridgeline Autumn

I find the autumn colors above tree line in NH's White Mnts. to be as colorful at times as those in the valley. The red light of sunrise accentuated the grasses and alpine plants this morning atop Garfield Ridge, overlooking the Pemigewasset Wilderness.

2 exposures for DR, ISO 1250 due to the high winds - I didn't want to render the grasses a complete blurry mess.

Lovely colors mixed with the hint of fog and rolling mountains makes for a really nice composition

The warm glow on the foreground and distant blue mist are just gorgeous Harry.

Beautiful light, and really colorful grass! Great image. I do think I can spot a few halo's from the blend, but they aren't really distracting. What a view...

Nathan - Let me know where you notice the halos - I would want to correct that if possible. The far right has areas of valley fog which may look like processing issues, but if they look like halos, should be a quick fix. Thank for picking up on that.

Nice light Harry, I know how difficult it is to find a composition on the mountains in the northeast  Looks like it could use a slight clockwise rotation. Nice work.

Positively luminous! The composion is grand but not in least overwhelming. Such an engaging image, I'd like to see it very large in a great hall or lobby somewhere Nature longs to be adored.

Zack - I contemplated a little rotation, but the clouds might appear angled unless areas stretched to counter the process so I opted not to. The far mnts are angled away from me, so that may account for the need to rotate. I know there is a perspective tool in PS, I may try that to see what it does to the image-hopefully not degrade the resolution. Thanks!

Absolutely gorgeous light striking these alpine plants, Harry. The vibrant reds really take this to another viewing level from this particular spot. Excellent scene......
