Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm 1.4TC 850mm ISO400 f/8 1/1250 White Balance auto Tripod with Wimberly Gimbal Processed in Lightroom, CS6 and NIK

This fellow was in the channel closest to the path. He continued to walk in the direction from which I was shooting, and I had to continually back up because he filled the frame. While there he caught many fish, and this was the largest. Unfortunately, his face was shaded. I waited another 90 minutes for him to catch a large one with the sun in the right direction, but to no avail.

Nice catch for you and the Egret, Patrick. The lack of light in the face doesn't bother me-you brought out the details nicely, and there's no glaringly bright area to distract from it.

Cool moment. The shaded light didn't help you with the light. With the shaded light, there is also a heavy blue color cast on the shaded side of the Egret. A Hue/Sat layer, selecting the blue channel and desaturating will help. Might have to mask off the bird if the other blues become too desaturated.

The color fix should be easy. Very sharp and the fish adds a lot.

beautiful rich colours and super detail Patrick. Like the composition very much
Shame the angle on the fish doesn't show it at its best.

Interesting behavior. I'm ok with the shaded light on the face but agree with Keith about the slight color cast on the body.
