Sony A77
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 400, 1/60 @ f16

Named for the leaves that are purple and dark green, these little guys are about 1 inch in diameter. Had fun dealing with wind and shifting shadows and felt this was the best of the bunch. All comments welcome. >=))>

Bill,

Nice find and wonderful composition. The dark background for the glittering petals is perfect. You seem to have prevailed against the wind. The centers are sharp. Well captured!

A signature Minolta 200mm image. Incredible sharpness and a thin DOF. An argument here for a small focus blend to get the top petals into sharper focus.

Bill, the sharpness in both flower centers is amazing and the overall colors are lovely. I do find the petalless center, upper right a bit distracting, might be worth some selective blurring or some burning in to reduce it's impact.

Always admire how you compose small groups of flowers, Bill - this is no exception. Lovely light, colour and textural detail across the frame, all blending beautifully IMO. Only ( very slight ) nit might be the touch of a flower centre on the mid L border just drawing the eye out a bit. Very fine image whatever !

Bill - Great take. Two is better than one  - love the emphasis on the centers of both the flowers. Part of me wishes the third flower in the background was not there

Excellent grouping with fine purple color against the dark bg, Bill. Excellent sharpness in the centers. You might consider a crop off the top to eliminate the petalless center and sort of match or balance the bottom.
