Kah, I feel the grad really worked very nicely here and allowed excellent exposure of the young lady in the capture. The extreme white in the clothing and shoes might have been lost a bit without it. This is a wonderful composition and makes for a really nice example of what we do out in the field. Wonderful scene.

A wonderful comp and extremely well handled exposure. My only question which I'm only going to assume that everyone else are wondering, did she get wet? Her position seems pretty tenuous.

What, are you still using those scratchy old grad filters….? Just kidding.
Lots to like in this picture. The foreground water line frames the model nicely. I like how the sun in the upper left corresponds to the model in the lower right for that classic balanced feel.
It looks like you are a good friend.

Neat shot and the whites in your friends clothes are perfect. I also really like the subtle sunburst and halo. The sky feels unrealistically dark to me when compared with the foreground.

Thanks for all your comments. John, she did not get wet here but we did get cut off a bit by the tide so had wet shoes returning to shore. Mark, I've gone for a darker sky to hold the colours better.
