A pride of 8 had killed a Buffalo in the afternoon the day before (whilst we were following the Female Leopard  )
The kill was later stolen by a large pack of Hyena, the following morning the pride eventually reclaimed their much diminished kill.
Taken in Khwai Community Reserve, Botswana

She does have that buffalo eating grin on her face, very nice. The lion and buffalo are super subjects but I also appreciate the sublime detail on the bark on the well worn brush in the background and hint of green in the grass. With the zoom I imagine you were able to get some horizontal shots of the other lion's front and rest of the buffalo?

Gary,

Thanks very much, I have quite a few shots from this sighting  Some showing more of the pride etc., I chose this one for the lions expression, I also have some images for another kill taking place, but have not yet studied them.

Very nice capture. I think it would have worked better if the second lion's back end were not in the frame. However, we have to take what is offered. Great image regardless. Surprised you didn't have more comments.
