St Malo

It may surprise many to know that this was photographed the evening after the M&N image I just posted. The town of St Malo in Brittany has always been linked to the sea and was once run by pirates. After photographing seascape in the afternoon I had a typical Breton dinner consisting of galettes and crepes. My dinner companion who is also a photographed had a couple of smoked on the way back and I shot a few frames in the streets.

Canon 5DMkIII, 16-35mm

This is a beautiful image. The light on the subject and shallow DOF are perfect to create a sense of mystery. :toast:

I'm a sucker for a great night shot, and this is one. I really like they way you blurred the background to put more emphasis on the subject. Well done!

Love the low key look. It reminds me of some of Brassai's photographs. Very nice!
