No day off for today for the hard working bees and butterflies, including this Monarch butterfly and Honeybee sharing a butterfly bush blossom. Image taken last weekend at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Youngstown. Single image taken with D600, 150 macro (w/1.4 tc for eff. focal length of 210), 1/1000, f11, iso 1000. Lots of attempts to get one acceptable image with both subjects sharp and a nice bg. This version is cropped from original horiz. Thanks for looking. Comments, questions, and suggestions appreciated. Happy Labor Day to all you hard working macro (and flora) shooters. :wavey:

Very nice Scott,
The detail on both subjects is outstanding and the colors really POP.
The vertical version would be my choice, it seems much cleaner with less BG.

I agree with Mike about the vertical version. Very nice colours and great capture.

Thanks for the opinions, Mike and D&L. Because that made three for three (including me), I went ahead and deleted the horizontal. :wavey:

Scott - Awesome composition - the Bee is a bonus. Great use of DOF for this large butterfly shot from the top-side.

Works very well as presented for me. :toast:

Most dynamic composition, Scott, with a great double capture and some excellent detail. Love the antennae of the b/f feeling out the scents you can almost smell !

Scott, beautiful color & I like this composition. On my monitor the wing tips appear slightly out of focus, if that matters.

Really nice blend of soft BG colors Scott.
Great diagonal aspect, detail, and plane of focus
These b-flies are some of the most active, and difficult to shoot.
Hat's off to ya, nice work :toast:
