Thank you for your comments on my Weathered Whitebark image.

This one was made on a misty-moisty morning last fall in Yosemite. I was intrigued by the color and details of the ferns and the sheen of the char on the burned pines.

Really like the quiet peaceful mood you captured, beautiful detail and natural color. Pretty scene indeed Preston.

Man, I love this Preston! The color contrasts and textures really jump out at me. The only really small nit I might have is that the highlights of russet ferns in the foreground look a bit bright to me. It could just be my monitor though.

No real nits, just a comment. It's nice to see the resurgence of vegetation following the fire.

Very nice, Mr. Birdwell. Excellent job making a good comp in an otherwise chaotic scene. Good color and contrast, too.

I've always enjoyed scenes of burnt tree trunks with nature's rejuvenation surrounding them. This is one of the better ones. No nits from me. I like it!

Sweet shot Preston. The color attracts initially, but then the mystery of searching the elements takes over. The large version is a must.

preston, that colour in the FG ferns is astonishing - and i'm hoping that you have another exposure with just those ferns with a few of those burned trunks in them ...?? this has good layers of colours and interest but those ferns are captivating me.

Great image. The colors, contrast, lines and composition are right on. One reason I like this image is it is produced from an area where many would pass by because it was burned out and there is no beauty there. Well seen and photographed.

As already commented about at this point is the very nice contrasting aspects to this image, Preston. To use the term "aspects" it would include the colors, the crisscrossing verticals, the dark and lights, and of course the dramatic differences between the burnt dead trees and the rejuvenation of growth all around them.

Kind of a sad scene to see in any forest, but we know it's all about nature's phases of survival over the long haul.

Very nicely done.......

Cool... I like the contrast between the dark trees and the light brush. The natural color is great, without being overpowering. Nicely done, Preston

The dark trunks work beautifully against the foliage, and nice way the foreground trees relate to those in the bgd.
