I like your comp for the most part, and i like the backlit grasses etc here. I have two thoughts. One, there has to be more space up top; i know the sky is blank but it's too tight up there. The second thing is that i think a cp could have cut down some of the washed out look in the sky. You can 'correct' both of those ideas in PS--but im not sure what results you'd get.

I like the layers of tones and textures giving depth and interest from front to back. That is one strangely fascinating formation, Rick.
