This shot was taken yesterday at the Scarborough Bluffs 08/13. Taken in the morning with natural sunlight. The birds were on a bridge boardwalk which was gated. I had to hold my lens between the gaps and take the shot. I like the shot for the action..flying bird, bird with fish, and interaction between the two. However limited by my lens distance (cropped heavily), and the difficulty of the shot(available angle) the quality is lower. I also reduced the noise in Lightroom and the pixel quality is lowered...The photo was edited in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Would like to get your comments, Thank you.

The interaction is the strong point. I like the light as well. As noted, your self critique is valid. My only suggestion in processing is to back off the noise reduction a bit.

Hi John,
I would have thought the 6D would handle noise better at a ISO of 2000. You may want to try setting the noise reduction for high ISO in the camera setting. Great shot.

I like the interaction here John, I think you could have given the image a little more room on top and bottom and that might have helped the image quality by reducing the crop. If you are running noise reduction during raw conversion I would avoid luminance noise reduction as that really destroys detail and use color noise reduction with the detail setting on a high number (I usually use 90). Nice diagonal lines in this, more dof would have been nice, maybe 1/2000 and F8 - although I realize these guys fly really fast. :toast:
