Emerging

Few weeks ago we found many Demoiselles (probably Banded Demoiselles, Calopetryx splendens) emerging from exuvias.
Large version provided.
D&L

Canon 5DIII, Sigma 150, Sigma 2X, f/13.0, 1/160sec, ISO500, tripod, reflecting panel, natural light.

Outstanding, Daniele and Loana. Love the comp and subjects (all three subjects, and the way they're lined up so well vertically). The subject not only is interesting and technically well done, but beautiful and artistic as well. A superb image.

I like how you have captured the nymph and adult stage...I can imagine the journey of the nymph migrating from the water by crawling up that plant to emerge into the air. Excellent image! Well done.

These images of emerging insects always appeal to me because of the story they tell. The detail here is superb and the perch and background are excellent. Good work!

Fantastic capture of this event! There are some great levels of interest in this image--from the budding flowers on the branch down through the sharp hairs visible on the legs to the wing details. All showcased so nicely against a smooth background of green. Would be a special experience to see.

Thank you very much for the very nice comments. This was the first time we assisted to this event. A special experience, also because in the same area we found many different DFs at this stage. We chose this one for the perch and the possibility of having a neat BG.

Outstanding image. Technical aspects and composition are perfect. I really like the pose and the perch. Amazing details, especially in wings. The use of a reflecting panel was an excellent decision.
