This was one of four birds feeding in an old weed-infested sugar cane field.

Hi
Rob how did you get the plants on the right hand frame in focus and the Bustard in focus?

Rob,
Nice catch. Is it safe to presume this species is difficult to photograph? :toast:

Hi Peter - It's just an optical illusion that makes the plants appear to be closer. They are in the same focus plane.

Is it safe to presume this species is difficult to photograph?

Hi Patrick - on foot they are quite flighty but if you remain in your vehicle they tend to just slowly walk away
