Emerald Pools II

I've revisited this image several times over the past year, but not sure where else to take it. I think it's much improved over the first attempt, but wondering what else you'd do with it or if it's good to go. I lowered the contrast and brought down the highlights especially on the rock face, and lightened the upper part of the tree trunk. Not everyone was a fan of the tree (and that's ok), and there's a little motion blur from the breeze, but any other processing suggestions/refinements would be much appreciated.

Looking forward to fall!

Jared, you might try to reduce saturation a little on reds. On my screen I see a little too much red tint in the bark of tree. Otherwise gorgeous color.

Very nice image Jared, great colors and I like the comp. I had a few images last fall with trees running straight through the frame like this, and I think it gives a nice context to the textures and colors surrounding it. I think you could still try to tame the highlights in the sandstone walls, but it's not a deal breaker. What makes this shot for me is the waterfall in the BG.

Thanks for the comments so far- Stan, yeah, that's a little weird. It's possible I had the camera tilted down slightly to get the comp I wanted, and it also looks like maybe the tree had recovered from some damage in the top part, and the bark had grown wider around that spot. Maybe it will keep people looking longer... maybe it's just annoying.

Nice framing of this image. It took me a little while to recognize the area. The colors are glorious and the small streaming waterfall adds a lot. Well done. Chet

It's a nice abstract. I really like the mix of colors. The tones has improved since the previous version. For me the saturation is just right.

Jared, What a wonderful mix of colors you found here. The rock wall made a great bg here too. Very nice!

Jared, a wonderful take on this area of ZNP. The color is everything here in this scene. This framing of the site works just fine, however, I think there maybe a nice vertical pano too. Not sure you'd thought of trying that idea, but I see a couple and possibly a third idea. It's always nice to try a few different looks when the original is as nice as this one.

Thanks, all, for the feedback. Paul, that's an interesting thought about a vertical pano; I hadn't considered that but I like the idea and will try it out.
