For me at least a Ground Hornbill flying is quite a rare sighting, So I was pleased to see this I just wished that it had been a bit nearer and in better light. This one caught me almost totally unprepared.
Taken on Rhino Island Matusadona National Park, Zimbabwe.
EOS 1DX
500mm F4 MkII
F4.5

I agree with what you wrote Ken. A ground hornbill in high flight is rare to see. I've only seen them fly short distances close to the ground. Good reactions.

That is a great catch, I would have never seen a Ground Hornbill if not for you work.

The light looks excellent to me, Ken. Great shot for being "unprepared". The exposure of the blacks looks excellent and the golden light on the face works very well.
