Canon7D,70-300lens@185mm,ISO640,f8. Bright cloud in afternoon. Approx 60% of original. Eastern Pondhawks.I wish there was greater variety of DFs locally, but shouldn't complain too much. At least these are letting me shoot them.Questions: BG? Should I remove the reed on left?

Roger,
Great capture for sure. I've seen this myself but have never been able to capture it. I think blurring the background. would definitely make this image pop more and the reed on the left really doesn't add anything to the image.

Excellent capture of the behavior, Roger. They look like they're performing in an insect Cirque Du Soliel. I like this image a lot, and it's a definite keeper, so I would take the time to make the reed on the left disappear. I'd also consider cloning out the diagonal reed in the upper right bg. I'd also clone out the three or so bright spots in the bg. Finally, I'd burn the bright area on the stick on the left near the reed. :toast:

Great catch, showing nicely the m/f color difference. I agree with Scott's processing suggestions. I also think that a bit more space at the bottom would be nice (if it's available).
