Been busy...playing a bit catchup and seeing some lovely photos.
This was taken yesterday, early evening... some fog with mist coating the flowers...but not watering the garden.
zeiss 100mm, nikon d800e, one exposure.

An exquisite image, the dark BG really makes the subject pop. What were the exposure settings? You achieved nice DOF throughout the whole flower.

Great image. Perhaps a tad bright in the center. I would strongly suggest a square cropping. Symmetrical flower images such as this are ideal candidates for square imaging. While there is nothing wrong with this composition as is, I feel like the negative space top and bottom are there only because that's how your camera formats.

A real in-your-face image with excellent detail & color. Excellent light & BG. I wonder if a little more space both sides would be an improvement.

Very nice, Ken, I agree with Michael's square crop/comp suggestion.

Hi, hey great suggestions... thanks... here is a sq frame. Yes...bright center... I was trying for a bit 'pop'. I darkened the b/g on this too.
Details: f11, ISO 800, 1/3 sec shutter, cable and mirror up.
