I came across this scene near Ecola State Park on the northern Oregon coast. I experimented with the composition a bit, and tried focusing more on the tree and it's reflection with a tighter vertical shot, but in the end this was my favorite and i'm interested what you all think.

Canon 5d Mark ii, 16-35mm lens, 1/30 sec at f/11, ISO 100, gitzo tripod

This is a beauty. It works for me. Great reflection and killer sun effect.

Wow, eery, moody, ephemeral, and unsettling.
Love it!

Nice halo and photo! My only nit is the dust spot on the left just above the horizon.

Sweet and moody. Since there is little shadow detail in formations a complete silhouette might make this more outstanding. :wavey:
Dust spot has been mentioned. Lightroom 5 has anew dust spot finder in the healing brush for all interested. :toast:

Crazy how that tree manages to hang on up there! Everything works here, IMO; a fine shot.

Thomas,

Excellent! Great atmosphere and great timing with the conditions and great reflection. Good catch of the dust spot by Roel. Otherwise no nits or suggestions.
