One from this morning while shooting with a couple of good friends near Albuquerque.

This male Black Chinned made a very cool move and I was lucky enough to capture a unique pose.

Canon 5D Mark III, 100-400 @ 400mm
ISO 320
1/200 @ f/16

4 Canon 430 EXII flashes, 3 for the hummer, 1 for the background.

Larger version included.

A few tonal tweaks and a small crop

Interesting flight position and nice composition using the lines of the branch.

Very cool, Keith. I like the slightly blurred wing tips.

Wow, lots of great work over here in this gallery. I'm not an avian photographer but I know this is not easy to pull off. Great image, nicely composed and you have captured the action perfectly. :toast:

Very good image IMHO!. I like that the hummers head is sharp and the blooms are in focus. Great catch of the action. The BG works well. Thanks for sharing.

The large version is must see. Great stop action capture of this beauty, the background works well with this composition.
