Beginning and the End !

Hey guys!

Yes, I am still alive! But all work and no play makes me a dull boy. I've been in and continue to be in a huge project for the city of San Leandro. 7days a week and 11/12 hour days, living in a hotel cept for two nights a week to come home an do laundry & replenish the ice chest. Oh yeah, and make sure my wife doesn't forget what I look like

Sorry for not participating much lately, but I have nothing new. But I did work this up a couple weeks ago, and like it quite a bit. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Thanks,
Chris

Beautiful image, Chris. No nits from me as I like everything about this. Good to see something new from you. I can certainly understand a busy work schedule.

We have missed you pal and are glad to see you back, even if it's just an occasional post. This is gorgeous - it's all about color. This has to be seen large to be appreciated fully. The detail in the FG is superb. One nit - the horizon is a bit tilted; otherwise - perfect.

Nice to hear from you Chris. Too bad about the major project overtaking things a bit, but I've been there and know what it's like. As we like cream in our Cheerios we make the $ when and where we can.

The photo is excellent. I think although all aspects of technical are right on, I especially like the composition on this scene. The main sea stacks are the real attraction but I'm finding the FG rocks work well as a nice lead in too.

btw; did you see my post in the CANP forum on the Redwood Trees photo contest? When I saw the link I immediately thought of some of your images from that area as I recall. Anyway, there are only two days left I think to enter.

I like the softness of the water and sky against the blunt hardscape of jagged rock. Lovely light and color

Work is a drag, we used to say.

Beautiful light and color in this. I'm kind of curious as to why you needed an 8 second exposure? I would prefer more definition to the water, but the long exposure does allow for the light to put a color wash over it. I guess it just depends on your intent. Did you use a variable neutral density to achieve the long exposure?

The glow on the rocks is really nice as well as the detail there. A beautiful seascape, Chris!

Love the mix of warm and cool color as well as the silky water Chris. That sky is splendid. Welcome back.

Excellent color Chris. It does have a slight CW tilt.

Very lovely Chris, there does seem to be a slightly excessive red bloom to the shadow side of some of the rocks, which I would probably choose to neutralise a little bit more, though I suspect the central stacks are picking some of that up in the back lit sea mist. It is a lovely image though. The sand is a wonderful red chocolate hue.

Gorgeous light and color Chris. I like the angle of the clouds and how this works so well to balance your comp.

So there you are Chris! Great to see an image from you. This is just a gorgeous seascape! The sunset sky is wonderful, but for me I just love the light and detail of the rocky foreground and then the silky ocean separating the rocks from the stacks. And speaking of the stacks in the water, great job including just a hint of detail and not letting them go jet black.

This is excellent all the way around, EXCEPT as Youssef noted, I think the horizon has a slight slant. minor.

Hi Chris! Yes, Good to see something from you again...and it is fantastic! Really like the colors in this and your comp looks great. I haven't been on here very much lately because of other projects too. I did just return from a trip up north so finally have a few new images that I can post however. Look forward to seeing you back here more when you get the time! Cheers!
