This little guy is about 1/2 inch long. I found him on the beach at Lake Alice, part of the North Plate National Wildlife Refuge. He wasn't very cooperative, I had to keep wiggling all over in the sand because he would not sit still. I appreciate all comments and critiques.

Sigma 70-300 in macro mode
Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/1000
Aperture f7.1
ISO 400

Richard - Love the low level perspective - at the eye level of the frog. The OOF frontal area works here well and leads me quickly to the frog !.

I really like your frog and the nice, low perspective, but for me the image would be better presented as a pano, cropping away 2/3 of the oof foreground. Sharon

I love the way he blends into the sand, Richard. Fine job of composing for the eye-level perspective and the pof. I think the sand granules actually show what a small fry he is.

Hi,
i like photographing those little critters and you did well, i know how fast they can move even if they are small. Just a little comment, it's right eye is OOF, the focus is behind, in that position the right eye should be in focus.
Hope you will have a chance to photograph other Toads.

Excellent dof choice, Richard ! Love the way the frog comes at you out of the blurred fg and bg. Some nice detail too - fine image !

Great image of this tiny frog! Excellent choice of DOF to isolate him from the bg.
