Tongue curl
by Kathy Barnhart
I went to the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, and got this shot of some kind of butterfly. Sorry, never got the name. But I did learn that the tongue,or proboscis, stays curled by the head until it is ready to sip some nectar, at which time it becomes a straw. Pretty handy.
