I really should call this the Anti-Kane photo since it took about 1/10000 the effort to get to that he just expended for the shot two doors down

Had a short three day trip to the mountains to shoot the great wildflower display this year.
I took this on my way down from Blue Lakes, a trail that eventually gets you within striking distance of the summit of 14K ft Mt Sneffels, the peak in the center here (and incidentally, first peak i climbed in CO...). Sunset was a bust, but the light beforehand was great!

There was actually a camper visible in the distance, which i didnt want to clone out, so i hid it behind the tree.

5Dmkii; 24mm TS-E stitch at f/11, 1/20s, ISO200.
C&C Welcome!

That's a nice, simple, and pleasant shot to look at Stan. :toast:

I like how you got the camera low enough to break up the treeline with the flowers poking up on the right side. Any lower and the scene would loose the sense of depth!

Thanks for sharing! :wavey:

Edit: I respect your ethical standards to not clone out the camper. I wish I had such restraint.

What an awesome shot Stan! The light is incredible! I agree with Johan, I would have whipped out the clone tool before I even knew what to clone

I'd crop about one inch off the bottom to get rid of those hangers halfway out of the frame with maybe a tad of creative cloning there as well to finish the job. Minor points, but it looks like a really fantastic summer scene overall....because I didn't have to deal with the mosquitoes.

Hi Stan, great shot with interesting composition. I would crop the bottom a bit though. But still great :toast:

Wonderful shot, Stan. Light, composition and exposure are simply perfect.
I love TSE for landscapes too (remembering recent Kane shot).

Very nice scene, Stan. One of these days I'll get out there to shoot the wildflowers. I like the comp and the exposure for the scene at hand, and the light is great. I'm thinking that there might be an option to do some judicious cropping from the bottom. I see a sweet spot that might work as well.

Sweet! The white flowers in the foreground work perfectly, and the overall scene is well balanced. Great colors, too.
I agree with Marc's suggestion, but otherwise you have a near perfect Colorado summer wildflower image here.

Hi Stan, I love this image regardless if you didn't make yourself vomit to get there. I can live with the wider comp shown here, especially presented as a large print. However I see what others are speaking to regarding a slight crop. Nice image Stan, certainly worthy of your already comprehensive website.

Sweet summer scene! I agree with Marc, about the lower 1/3 crop, it would help bring more emphasis to the mountains and sky as a result. Overall I really like the image, it's very inviting.

Really nice Stan, although this would be much improved with a nice big rock to anchor the foreground...

Well composed scene. The sharpness from FG to BG is eye grabbing. I agree that the flowers just at the lower margin detract a bit.

I love the colors and your POV here, Stan. It puts me in that beautiful wildflower field sans the mosquitoes and flies. Great light to BTW.

Gorgeous display of wild flowers Stan. The warm light on the mountains is also beautiful. I like the 6X7 style crop.

Agree with the crop suggestion from the bottom which seem to give a nicer balance to the composition. Lovely scene all round.

There are quite a few intruders around the edge of the frame, but it's tough in a filled field of flowers to eliminate all of those. The larger flowers and Sneffels on the left make this feel left heavy, but the mid ground with the tree lines leading to the middle help alleviate that. Especially the darker firs in the middle, too. I think you can pull more structure out of the mountains and clouds which would probably balance the tones a little more.

Just keep bringing those dozen wildflowers for everybody to see, Stan. All are definitely keepers! And, this one is no less beautiful than the rest.

What a gorgeous scene and I am really enjoying your portrayal of it.

As always, the sense of truth is so evident in your work. Making beautiful artwork, while retaining the strongest characteristic of the medium, is becoming a rarity these days. I therefore appreciate what you do very much.
