I liked this seed head with half of the seeds gone. I think a bit more dof would have helped or maybe a two shot stack.

5Diii, 180mm f3.5 macro, tripod, f10, 1/30, iso 640, Av mode with no compensation. Processed in CS6. Full frame. Taken July 7th at 6:14 am.

Thanks for looking,

I really like the depth you have achieved in this Dennis. Great vision and perspective in my opinion.

What an interesting image, Dennis. Forgive my quirky perspective, but it looks like a turkey missing its head! Moving past the turkey vision,. . .I like the viewpoint of seeing inside this seedhead and getting a detailed look at how the individual seeds are attached. The green smooth background works well and the water drops add a nice extra touch. A bit more room at the top would be helpful IMO. DOF looks good to me.

I really like the deatils of the seeds. Very well done. I agree with Carolyn about leaving some more room (maybe all around). This would also help with DOF (but DOF is fine as it is).

I must admit I would not have thought about either more dof or a stack had you not mentioned them, Dennis. This looks excellent to me as is - a lovely overall tonality and fine detail, plus a fascinating subject, make for a first class image IMO.

Interesting image, Dennis. Well seen and captured for bringing out the details. I especially like the water drops in the hairs. Good image, and no real nits, although I probably would not have objected to a bit more dof and a bit more room top and bottom.

Excellent sharpness and a very interesting perspective,Dennis. Also great BG. I was wondering about the tight vertical crop until I saw that it was full frame. I think it a slight negative that the filaments are clipped at the top, but still a very good & interesting image.

Dennis: I like the subject a bunch and the overall comp. A tiny bit more room would suit me a little better but I like this very much as is. Well done.>=))>

I think the focus here is right where it needs to be, Dennis, on those lovely seed heads and the water drops. My nit, is that I'd like to not have the seeds touching the top of the frame.

Looks like a turkey's backside.

Love the drops and detail throughout, and I think this makes for an interesting image.
