We found these young Lions just as it was getting dark, a suitable time for checking out high ISO speeds?
Taken in where else but Ruaha National Park, Tanzania, to date the best place I have ever visited for Lion sightings.
EOS 1DX
500mm F4 MkII
ISO 3200
F6.3
1/640
EV +0.33
hand held from open vehicle

Hi Ken. I like this one a little better than the post of July 12/13 as the cub's tongue is not sticking out here, otherwise comments echo previous post.

I 'd say the high ISO is no worry. The cub is tack sharp, the catch light is awesome. Again nice pose and comp.

Gary,
I must check my previous posts in future  I actually prefer the tongue although the pose is not as good.
Brad,
Thanks very much :toast:

Great expression. Some warm natural lighting to help you out would have made this a killer capture!

I take what I can get but better light would have been a great improvement :toast:

I agree with Brad, the high ISO capabilities of the better cameras these days is simply stunning. Great comp and pose on this one, the cub has an almost mischievous look about it. Very well done!

Joseph,
the higher ISO's available today are a great boon especially for hand holders like me, but I still prefer 800
