Halema'uma'u Crater 1985, Volcano National Park, Hawaii

Volcanic debris taken very close to the the rim of Halema'uma'u Crater in 1985. Today, you cannot get anywhere this close. Thanks for having a look.

Ektachrome 100 Professional Film. Taken with a Bronica EC and 75mm Nikkor lens.

I really like the comp here, Eva. The glimpse of the crater gives nice depth to it, while the foreground dominates. Catching the steam is excellent for a sense of place and conditions. Just a very cool shot!

Pretty unusual-looking documentary image, but as such one that would work on it's own only in the context of more information about the volcanic origins (otherwise I never would have guessed).

Fascinating study Eva. I really like both the vent/rocks almost like an inverted false kiva - if that makes any sense what so ever. But also the steam receding in to the frame works very well. the only suggestion I have is to crop slightly from the top to eliminate the faint white line. Also, might want to selectively reduce the blue up top.

The steam really makes this one work, Eva. I really enjoy geological images overall and it's also nice to have some information to tie things together as you've always done. Nice work again from this unique area in Hawaii.
