Here's another shot from our trip to Santa Clara Ranch in South Texas earlier this year. Taken from a sunken blind, bait provided.

Terrific pose with the head-turn and flared tail! Tack-sharp and great perch.

Super image with wonderful details, light and colors. Both the bird and you presented the tail end nicely  Sharon

Hi Nate, if you tweak the Blue in HSL it real does make the subject POP and give some oomph. Why 1/8000 SS, think you could have afforded to drop the ISO? Did you try flipping it?

Thanks for your comments. Steve, I was shooting flight shots and the bird came in and landed and gave us some nice poses ruffling it's tail and feathers, the 5D3 is noise free at iso 500, there's no reason to lower it. If I had been trying to change my iso during the sequence I probably would have missed this shot. I much prefer to keep my shutter speed up and capture the action. I did stop down from F5 to F6.3 shortly after this shot.
