Widow Skimmer

A simple shot of the Widow Skimmer aka Libellula luctuosa. Light was a bit harsh, but it is what it is. Due to messy plants growing underneath could not spread my tripod in a way to parallel the wings. You will find the wing tips on the left are a bit soft.

ND300s, AFD200mm F/4 Micronikkor @ F/9, 1/320 Sec, ISO400 and Tripod.

All thoughts and comments are welcome.

Excellent comp and good job getting the body and all four wings sharp against the clean bg, Ram. The tips of the left wings are certainly good enough for me. Nice bg as well. :toast:

Ram, the softness of the wingtips is hardly noticeable at this size...I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. The sharpness of the rest is great and the background is complementary and nicely oof.

Goodness, looks sharp enough to me! Especially for quick-moving skimmers. Lighting also looks fine. . .only the plant below the skimmer looks a bit bright. I like the angled pose. Very nice capture, Ram.

Not everything has to be sharp to me, as long as the eyes are in the focus plane, I think it's OK. Like the image as is, with the beautiful BG.
