Singin' for Sunshine

I really like the bg for this common Song Sparrow. My first shot of the misty morning back in May at the "The Brig". The weather never did improve
Some may wonder how this could be a "May" image....this is what one area looked like after Hurricane Sandy stripped away all the vegetation.

50D, 500mm w/1.4, ISO 200, F8, 1/80
LARGER version also provided.
Thanks to all who take the time for a comment or critique! I appreciate it! Sharon

Beautifully done Sharon. I am glad the weather was like this, because it gives it an almost HK look. The processing on this is excellent and love the comp as well.

I love the subdued palette in this one, Sharon, and the singing pose is excellent.

An exceptional image Sharon. This just screams great to be alive and a birder. The comp and techs are dynamite, wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing it.

The bare branches give testimony to Sandy's destructive power, great pose, POV, and comp.
Love the title, and the muted BG makes the SS stand out nicely:toast:

For me, the branches and their light/shadow make the image. Even without the Sparrow they would be a great abstract. The sparrow itself is nice & sharp. Also like the choice of frame.

A nice combination of a bird photo and an abstract; a compelling shot. Hard time for birds if all the shrubs were stripped like this.

Nice one Sharon - really like the array of white twigs and grey background against the browns of the bird

Nicely captured, Sharon. The pose, perch, sharpness and BG colour all work for me.

Lovely shot Sharon! And at a great place! "The Brig" is making a strong comeback, loop open to cars, etc. etc. Long way to go though.
