Wizard's Lair

Here's a look into a mystical world that's made from three images. Each one was either mirrored twice or 4 times and then cropped and layered into this final look. The polar conversion was applied only to the middle layer. This is definitely best seen when viewed large.

Now this is really wild, Mark. Nice work all the way around on this one. Has a crystal ball look to it for me. Excellent manipulation in the post processing.

Very cool. Looks like a lot of work went into this and it turned out well. I like the background as well, fits in nicely with the small planet. :toast:

Fantastic, Mark. Lots to look at in the mini world, and the bg fits beautifully. Kudos on your skill and creativity. :toast:

Whoa... this is not what I was expecting from the monthly theme. That's why this is so fun. You've really got the Shangri-La, Buddhist, ephemeral, sno-globe thing working here. This should be on the cover of the CD my massage therapist plays while I'm zoning out.

I really like this and would love to see your original.... :toast:

Marc, here are the originals. This is the background. I used roughly the upper left 1/3 and mirrored it 4 times. It's some of the runoff from Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone.

I rotated this one and mirrored it before applying the polar conversion to get the small planet (or crystal ball). It's from Mammoth Hot Springs.

This one comes from ice on my backyard pond. It's a close cousin, without cropping, of my post in the weekly challenge. It was rotated, mirrored 4 times, shrunk, and then lightly added for the misty wizard (lower left corner). I'm planning on posting the full wizard soon.

well done, Mark. You cropped and mirrored perfectly, to create the great background and the small world ball. Very balanced.

"This is definitely best seen when viewed large."
When I view the large version, it does not fit on this 27" monitor, must scroll. Do have the same thing at your end?
Just curious. Since they made the upload changes here on NPN, everything seems much larger..
