Harvesting Cuban Tobacco

This is one of the most beautiful areas in Cuba and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tobacco plantations abound under the watchful eyes of sugar-plum hills. Here, a farmer was kind enough to stand still long enough for me to do an environmental portrait.

Wonderful portrait Margo. I like the slight vignetting going on too. Interesting, the guy in the background looks like military, although I expect just another worker. Nicely captured.

Thanks, Lon, for your always-kind comments. Yes, that is another worker in the background. We didn't see much in the way of military. Even the local police are friendly and not overrunning Cuba.

We can't wait to return in March. Cuba is an amazing place. So much of what we understood isn't true any more. Yes, they have problems, but they are far different than we thought.

Love this Margo, especially being the cigar aficionado that I am! Is this in the Pinar Del Rio region?
