Glacial Rivers
Here is another from Iceland, for all of you who asked for bigger. Truth be told these should go bigger to be enjoyed, as in large prints.

Definitely looks organic Emmanuel. Been really enjoying your aerials from Iceland. Have you tried this genera in other locations like Scotland, Greece, other amazing places?

Hm, that is a loaded question Eva. First of I was never into aerial photography before, I fell into the project completely by accident. I’m still uncertain if I’m actually open on doing more aerials in the future. I always liked the idea of moving into space rather than facing it from a distance.
It all started with my three year old daughter, who is quite taken by Jackson Pollock the painter. So we often spend time messing about trying to paint for fun and look into painters who mostly do abstract work. Quickly that sparked ideas for photography, and one idea followed another until I went to Iceland and by that time I was looking for themes I could have a flat approach to.
Strangely as I was studying Iceland I was surprised to find out via Google earth that they have about a million airways. That means they all fly up there just to get to their farm or something, further research indicated that would be something to consider as I saw that from above I could find patterns that would be of interest. Will I do it again? I don’t have a clue, although now I have acquired some taste for aerials.
Utah might be interesting, some of the isolated areas.

Awesome Emmanuel! Could you explain what's going on here? I'm assuming it's some kind of shallow water run off, near the ocean?

Ted, yeah I would say shallow, something between 2 to 6 meters deep and about 15 to 30 meters wide on the widest parts, would be my guess.

Fascinating abstract image Emmanuel. I really like this one and I bet it would look great as a large print. I can't see you can make this one any better. Well done!

This one is my favourite of the aerials you have shown us thus far. The colour palette is sumptuous.

Extraordinary. Of course, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, and Art Wolfe have been the most well known photographers to do this in the past, but your work so far equals anything they produced.

This one looks like a majestic windblown tree. I like the added negative space on this one, but both this and you're previous posts are outstanding.

This is awesome!!!! Wonderful abstract. Without knowing what it is, I would never guess. Not that it matters in the least for the image to work.

I usually don't like HDR, if this is HDR, but this photograph really caught my eye in the thumbnails because of the design and graphics. I find it quite intriguing. Great image!

why would you assume this is HDR? Especially considering it's an aerial photograph taken from a moving plane 3000 feet in the air.

Margo, this is not HDR, which I never do. It a single exposure from a D800E, with minimal post processing. As a matter of fact the two aerials that I posted and most of the others from my recent aerial collection demand a single curve adjustment layer and a couple of other subtle adjustments.

Another amazing abstract - each better than the last. I think the creamish tones are what really makes this abstract to me - just doesn't match anything I have seen (not to say it looks unreal, but that it is unreal that something like this exists). Great work
