While working on some old images, I found this one, which I like!

Canon 7D, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x

I see why you like this one! Nice image. Nice pose and head turn. I'd take a look at burning the post down just a bit as it it pretty bright. That eye is also very bight. Maybe it is natural, but feels just a touch bright. Overall, very nice.

Your hawk is nice and sharp with a nice bg. Something about the eye just doesn't look right to me...it's so bright, but has no catch light. Head turn is nice. Sharon

Thanks for your comments.
I'll take a look later at the raw file. I didn't do any special changes to the eye, but I'll check if there is anything I can improve. Many thanks for the comments!

Maybe a square crop Starting under the tail to just the top of the head would help eliminate the wood Im fine with the eye.

Hello Keith and Sharon,

I took a look at all shots I have from this same bird, and the eye is as it is.
Please, take a look at this other image: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=200544&CGISESSID=6add22f9181142f1cc0bf9c8c07f3833&u=17201

It's the same bird, same place.

Keith, regarding toning down the post, I've done some changes. I would appreciate if you could comment.

Regards,
Jefferson

Very nice pose and head turn. I prefer the darkened pose in the repost. Interesting eye: I saw your comment that this is what it is. Thanks for checking.
