Well, maybe green legs and ham

This male had a mouthful! Found a few Bobolinks in an open field near our cabin, where they love to nest in the tall grasses. It was a real challenge trying to capture one between the seed pods and blades of grass. I also watched a Marsh Hawk swooping the field not far off from where I was. I hope there will be a few that make it through both the farm equipment and the hawk, for the next time we visit northern PA.

12 commentsGreat pose. Rather than distracting, the grasses and seed heads create a real feeling for the bird's environment.
Liked the composition, showing details of the environment.
I especially like the setting, head turn, and bountiful green ham-n-beak thing
Very nice
