After what has been an unprecedented drought year, the forests in South India spring back to life with a bountiful monsoon. A quiet moment amidst the mighty pachyderms with the rains.

I really appreciate the quiet mood in this photo. I'm a fan of rain in nature photos, it evokes so many emotions, no exception here. The two differing poses are a real bonus, I like the way the wet hide accentuates the animals contours and bone structure. I really like the way the bright greens of the understory contrast with the darker forest.

We're presently having our version of the monsoon season here in the rockies, many flooded lowlands from swoolen rivers and landslides in the mountains.

Beautiful frame with nice details on elephant and rain as well. I like the coin style presentation showing both the sides.

Beautiful elephant image, Vijay! I have enjoyed elephants in Sri Lanka in the rain and they really seem to like it! :toast:
