Arches Formations

The different sandstone formations bathed in the glow of the late afternoon light made for a contrast in shapes. The deep red colors of these sandstone wonders are at their best in this late light.

The varied shapes of Arches National Park offers a multitude of compositions, some iconic and some just a beauty to the eye.

Rick,

Ahhhh, some nice, warm and wonderful late light on the desert landscape. I like your near/far composition here. The foreground feels like a stockade or bunker, and works very nicely to anchor the landscape. The color and warmth of the midground leading to the rock formations works very nicely. I'm enjoying this landscape image - the light is wonderful.

This is my favorite of your recent posts. I am enjoying your composition, strong from front to back, with some nice side lighting and good shadows to give it depth. Nice take on Arches.

The golden light makes this one shine, Rick. Makes for some great color. I love this time of day!

I've enjoyed viewing your images (this one included) of less well-recognized locales in Arches. I love the area, and your images are a refreshing reminder to keep looking around. You've captured some nice warm light here, and the comp works well. i wonder what it would look like to get down closer to the foreground rocks here, shrinking the less-interesting mid-ground a little. Nice work.

Nice, warm light here. I love the way the path leads up right to the rocks. Nicely done. :toast:
