A lone fisherman continues on as nightfall begins.

South shore of Kauai.

C&C always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Awesome sky Morris. I'm wondering if the foreground might be improved without the pink cast in the dark shadows.

Thanks, Matthew. I believe it has something to do with the black border here. In the tiff the blacks are pure black. No cast there. And, the large version does not seem to have the cast either.

I guess for me, it seems just a little too pink. I wasn't there, though. Nice comp. My only suggestion would be about the slightly dark clouds in the upper right. They are right on the edge of the image, which bothers me a bit. But that area needs to be there so the fisherman is not too close to the edge. Not sure what you could have done about it. Maybe move to the right, so the fisherman is more centered, but then that nice burbling water in the FG wouldn't be there....ah it's always something.
Sure a nice tropical feel to this.

the sky, light and color is just great. The only nit is I would like to see more detail in the black areas. The left side is so dark it takes away from the over all image.

Nice shot. I know exactly where this. I have spent many many weeks over the years photographing on Kauai's south shore. It's a beautiful place for sure. I see the cast that other are talking about. I might try to increase the contrast on the foreground to but that is just me.

Beautiful scene, Morris! Film has it's merits, for sure, but i think id prefer more shadow detail here. You need to get back to Hawaii...so do i, for that matter! :wavey:

Wonderful scene, awesome pastel colored sky Morris..
Great interest with this comp that includes the pools of reflected sky, the bit of surf, and the fisherman adding good scale.
Very nice :toast:
