Magical Moments...

In Nature, it is moments like this that I live for. I feel very fortunate to be able to witness and capture the beauty nature has to offer. This is one of the most dramatic displays of light I have ever witnessed. When I came around the creek bend and saw this scene I stood there for a minute in awe, before realizing that this moment was not going to last. The intense light quickly began to fade as I rushed around looking for a nice composition to compliment the light. I hope I've done the scene justice. This was taken on the upper reaches of Soda Butte Creek, just inside Yellowstone National Park, on the Montana side. Thanks for looking and for any comments and or suggestions you might have.

I enjoy the composition, river flows into the mountain peak framed by trees and blue sky. Great light and nice job processing looks natural on my laptop.

What amazing light you captured here. Part of me wants to see a little more detail in the mid ground, but overall I like it as is :toast:

Spectacular alpenglow with good detail in the shadows and a beautiful river reflection- very nice. The downed tree in the river is a minor distraction. The forest is looking very healthy up there now.

That is some great light. You found a nice comp on the fly, too. Beauty.

What a beautiful scene, Zack! Really nice light and colors you caught here. The reflections in the water and that great sky all add to making this wonderful scene. I like this a lot! Nice work on your part capturing this!

Zack,

Beautiful light indeed. Although secondary to the light on the peak, I'm really enjoying the reflected light and color in the river. Just my preference, but for me the blue sky and maybe even the warm light on the peak is just a tad too saturated. Other than that, no nits or suggestions. No doubt an experience to have witnessed.

Incredible light! I like the color reflected in the river but it's the light on the peak that's really special. Great capture
