White River Tributary

This feeder stream is just west of Greenwater WA off Hwy 410. At first I thought the moving branches at the ULC ruined the shot but reconsidering? Also burned down the bright water ULC quite a bit, might need more. Sort of a busy composition I guess but neat and tidy streams are hard to come by obviously. Thanks for looking and commenting.

I like the comp and beautiful image Bruce. I would prefer slightly more exposure in the upper part of image.

Bruce,

A beautifully composed image; the rock in the LL anchoring the scene and the water flowing beautifully and the upper forest make for an excellent comp.

Would agree with Mark about a little more brightness - especially in the upper middle. The shadow areas lack a little detail which normally wouldn't bother me, but when areas like this occupy an important area then I think the detail comes in to play. Hopefully there is some detail in the original file.

The blurred branches in the back don't bother me in the slightest. The only other small nit is that there appears to be a dust bunny in the cascade of the middle tier.

A few tweaks and this should make a fine image and print.

Thanks for the comments guys. OK so this one is worth a little more effort I guess. tried getting more detail in the darkest shadows but it reduced contrast enough to make the image to seem washed out. I used both a curves and levels adjustments layers and ended up deleting the levels layer. I suppose I should figure out how to do that without it being a global adjustment....obviously.
Lon I think that spot you're seeing is a rock it seems too dark to be a blob of dust but if it's suspicious it needs to be removed I guess.

I like the diagonals of your comp Bruce. Nice light on the fg rock to give it emphasis and I like the soft water action. I think you could burn the ULC water down further and lighten the middle right bank a touch. Lovely shot.

The serene mood this image projects is very nice, Bruce. I also like the diagonal flow of the stream along with the lush greens of the surrounding forest. This is worth trying to bring out a little detail from the shadows if possible.
