I just changed the border to white - thanks for comment Roger!

I have no idea what flower this is but I picked it out of a bouquet. I thought it would make a nice subject to post here, since its been too long.

I cropped this to 5X7. The larger version is cropped to 4X6. I would appreciate your opinions on which format works best.

Exquisite image, Steve. The overall 5x7 pleases me most, but as you know, I'm sure, the detail of a closer crop is sure wonderful. Great work overall.

Beautiful color and detail Steve, definitely like the 4x6 best. Well done.

Beautiful image, Steve. My preference would go with the 5 X 7. I like the back (or near black) BG however the black frame in the smaller image blends with the BG and seems to cut of the stem. Minor point though.

Steve: I don't have a strong opinion regarding the crop; both work well for me but I certainly do prefer the larger version for the greater detail. Wonderful color and comp on both. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Superb detail and colour, and a lovely rhythm to the composition, Steve. I guess I might just plump for the 5x7 - not much in it for me really. Very strong image !!

Nice one, Steve. I really like the way everything draws the eye to the center of the flower. To me, the stem is superfluous in this image, so I vote for the 5x7 format.

Beautiful image, Steve! The black background makes a great backdrop for this lovely flower. I really like the colors in the flower, its interesting design, good details, and the "pose" of the flower all showcased in a very nice comp. I really have no opinion which version I like better. . .they are both great!

I love the curve, the colors, and the details Steve. I think the 5X7 works a bit better for me since you lose some sharpness on the stem. I wish that there was a bit more room on the sides.

Looking at the stamen I am thinking that this is a variety of geranium - but I could be wrong.

I like the colour combination, with black BG and the flower.

Like the stance of the stem, the colors and the clean background. Striking in its simplicity and detail.
