White-capped Dipper

Here's another shot from Guango Lodge in Ecuador taken on our trip last January. This bird was working it's way down the river towards where our group was standing. I had everyone sit down in the hopes that it would continue on our side of the river and work it's way past us as it's a skittish species. It did and we managed some nice images of it.

An extremely skittish species, Nate. Well-captured. And good work on the whites on the typical cloudy-bright conditions along the river.

Interesting species from that part of the world, always a pleasure when you can show me what I'm missing Nate
I like that salt-n-pepper cap & those legs look like brushed silver..
Very nice :toast:

Great shot, Nate! It never came to our side of the river when we were there.

Nate,
Like Hans I have never heard of this bird, so it is great to see one :toast:

Looks that a very busy chappy, love the water flowing over the rocks.

Striking bird nicely photographed, love the habitat you included. Same habitat preferred as the American Dipper.

Beautiful! I love the dipper in a "dipper" setting and exposure on the bird is just perfect! Rock and water add interest to the image. Sweet! Sharon
