Elegant Brodiaea

Elegant Brodiaea, Brodiaea elegans.

Bill, this may not be right for this gallery as it has been processed beyond an honest portrayal of the original photo. Move it if you think best. I don't mind. This was taken early today and the sunrise did make it more "warm" than is natural, but processing likely boosted that some.

Olympus E-5
12-60mm @39mm FL
1/8 sec @f8
-2.3 ev
ISO 200
tripod
cropped right and left to approx 80% of FF

I know there is noise, I reduced some but wish it as it is.

My tastes are personal, BUT, I learn from critique and different opinions, so PLEASE don't hold back folks.

Charlie, the whole idea of processing is to make the image look natural, or to suspend belief by creating a beautiful image. Where you stop is your own business, as long as it portrays nature. This is lovely, and I think it does just that. I would work more on the BG noise though. Doable as long as you treat it selectively.

Charlie - Looks great to me. Composition looks nice as does the choice of DOF. Dappled lighting is handled well. I personally do not see a valid reason to move this.

A very cool composition of one of my favorite wildflowers, Charlie, and I love the subtle glow in the center of the main flower. When looking at the larger version, my personal taste would be to have a little more dof, but you'd really be pushing it to get there.

Looks like a very nice portrait Charlie. I like the BG and the warm light. Nice DOF too.
